Aw fuck Iniesta is away to Japan, so that's one off my list. :mad1:

At the moment I cannot see Allan, Christie or Morgan displacing any of our current midfielders.

I have no opinion on Commper, but I have heard nothing to inspire me. Sviatchenko always seemed reliable although a little slow. He might get a chance again, not sure why he left in the first place.

Sorry to see Paddy go, thanks for your efforts and time with us.

Charlie who ???

Strong rooomers that Edouard is about to sign - will be a great start to the transfer window if true.

Need a left back to cover for Lustig and also need someone in midfield who has the guile and skill to unlock the parked busses that we have struggled against this season.

Yes, confirmed. i really thought he was going to come good for us, but in the end just wasn't sharp enough to match his level of commitment.
It was over for him when he started publicly flirting with Leicester.

Nadir Ciftci: Celtic cancel striker's contract a year early

1528286888764.jpeg

Celtic striker Nadir Ciftci (pictured above in Motherwell strip) has had his contract cancelled a year early and will leave the club at the end of June.

The Turkish forward, 26, was signed by former manager Ronny Deila in 2015 from Dundee United but failed to impress.

He scored four times in 26 appearances but has not played for the first team since February 2017.

Cifti had loan spells with Turkish side Eskisehirspor, Polish team Pogon Szczecin, Plymouth Argyle and, for the second half of last season, Motherwell.

He scored three times for Well in 15 appearances, two of the goals coming in his final appearance - a 3-0 win over Hamilton Academical on 12 May.

However, the player who has played for both the Netherlands and Turkey at youth level was then ineligible to play for Stephen Robinson's side in his parent club's Scottish Cup final victory.

Deila moved to sign Ciftci for £1.5m from Dundee United after an impressive 2014-15 campaign in which he netted 16 goals.

However, the striker, who played for Portsmouth, Kayserispor and NAC Breda before joining United, never settled in Glasgow.

He featured only four times during Brendan Rodgers' time in charge of the Scottish champions.

Stuart Armstrong: Southampton sign Celtic midfielder on four-year deal

Stuart Armstrong has made six appearances for Scotland since 2017

Southampton have signed Celtic midfielder Stuart Armstrong on a four-year-deal, understood to be worth £7m.

The 26-year-old, who has made six appearances for Scotland, joined Celtic in 2015 from Dundee United.

He scored 28 goals in three seasons with Celtic, with 17 of those coming in his first season under Brendan Rodgers.

"Our research tells us he is an excellent young man - intelligent, and a strong team player," Southampton boss Mark Hughes said.

"He has shown tremendous drive to improve and has also displayed a great desire to be a part of what we are trying to achieve here."

Armstrong has won four Scottish Premiership titles, two Scottish Cups and two Scottish League Cups.

"It is important we add a greater goal threat to the team as a whole, and Stuart's record of scoring and creating makes him an extremely exciting addition in that area," Hughes added.

Southampton finished 17th in the Premier League last season and narrowly avoided relegation.

Did a job for us, including scoring in our treble winning final.

Not sure why he has left, money? thinks he can do better than Celtic? who knows.

I am one of those guys who firmly believes its downhill for a player after leaving us, they might (probably will) earn more money but no where is like Paradise.

Good luck to him.

Good luck to him.
Money over medals, chances are he will never lift another trophy in his career but his call.

Reports seem to suggest he has gone from 10k to 40k a week. Easy move to make when you have no particular affection for the club and a carreer planned for after your football is over. There are players who I don't think have much interest in honours and medals, I may be wrong but Armstong always struck me as one of those.

Good luck to him. He wouldn't get that money here for the role he plays and he certainly was crucial for us at times.

I think his time was up with us. I think we got 1 and a bit good seasons from him. Time to go for me. With the blessings and good wishes of us all. I somehow think he’ll not be tearing down trees in the EPL. But all the best from the Celtic faithful. HH

Chance to play in one of the biggest leagues in the world and live the dream as a footballer not a Celtic fan

Arzani and McGinn will be the only other additions IMO, hope I’m wrong and we get a commanding CB
